I have several people ask me why I decided to name my series “Joy”. Well, besides Joy being my middle name ( seriously, its actually my middle name) I feel that it comments on the book. I chose that title because I felt that it asks a subliminal question of my readers, Is this “joy”? Am I happy in this situation?etc.
We ladies go through alot in our relationships before we find “the one”. Often times, we stick it out much longer than we should simply because we fear being alone. I wanted to comment on this through The “Joy” Series.
My favorite character from the series is Angela. She represents not only myself but tons of other women I know. She is helplessly in love with David, the man she’s loved since she was in high school. She pours her hert and soul into him but no matter what she does she can’t seem to get him to commit. Sound familiar?
We’ve all been there. Dr. Phil said it best when he made the statement: “The only thing worse than being in a bad relationship for one year is being in a bad relationship for one year and a day.”
Don’t hold on to the relationship because it’s safe or comfortable. If you’re the only one in the relationship fighting to make it work, it might be time to walk away. #doyouhavejoy
